Why Choose Golden Hands Jewelry?
Why Stone Replacement?
The aim of jewelry is to be worn and viewed, but they can meet with misfortune and damage over time. Several reasons for stone replacement include:
Accidental Damage – This could involve Chipping, scratching, or the stone fracturing.
Loose Stones or Lost Stones – Over time, a prong or setting can become worn, further loosening with wear and finally going missing.
Discoloration or Loss of Luster – Some gemstones lose their ‘beauty’ due to exposure to heat, moisture or chemicals.
Beauty Upgrades – Higher quality or differently colored gemstones may replace less desirable ones.
The issue can also cause aesthetic damage and loss of value. The piece gets weaker when a stone is missing or damaged, allowing for further deterioration to occur.

Our Professional Stone Replacement Process
Here at Golden Hands Jewelry, we have established a very methodical process where we ensure that your replacement stone is a perfect match for your jewelry and that it is set firmly for long-term durability.
Jewelry Inspection & Stone Matching
We inspect your piece of jewelry to access the damage; this includes checking for loose prongs, wear and tear of the settings, or any other structural problems.
If the stone is missing, we select a highly graded stone that matches cut, color, and clarity.
If your stone is chipped or scratched, we will assess whether it can be repaired or a complete replacement is needed.
Custom Stone Cutting & Sizing
Some pieces of jewelry are custom-cut to perfectly match the unique stone setting.
Our jewelers carefully cut and size a new stone to enhance the design.
Stone Setting & Prong Repair
The stone is set the right way (prong, bezel, channel or pave setting) for maximum safety.
If need be, we can re-tip or reinforce the prongs so that they hold the stone firmly.
Cleaning and Polishing
The jeweler will then make sure that the jewelry is cleaned, and the shine restored.
Final Inspection & Quality Check
Final inspection to ensure that the stone is secure and the piece is in completed order.
